Soundfrost is a software program with extensive search, download, and online playback features for its library of 10 million songs.

Over the past few years, the face of digital music has changed so much that it's hardly recognizable. MP3 sharing programs have faced stiff penalties from governing bodies and faced an uphill battle to keep their programs alive. SoundFrost is one of the programs that continues to thrive in an online environment increasingly hostile to free music sharing programs.

You can access millions of songs using SoundFrost. The search feature is highly user friendly and simple to use. Files and audio playback are available for nine different audio formats including MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC. Genres are prolific and give users plenty of choice. You can search for a specific song or use their discovery features to find new music. Playlists aren't a problem either although they aren't anything fancy. If you're a big fan of YouTube, there's great news here, too. You can convert videos to 18 different media formats.

Pros

  • Selection: 10 million songs is as strong a variety as some of the big name companies charging for their services.
  • Price: It's free and it doesn't get better than that.
  • Video conversion: YouTube fans will be thrilled that they can convert video to audio. This is a dream come true for many YouTubers.

Cons

  • Too many extras: As with almost any program of this kind, you're going to get far too many bulky programs added onto the software. Some of this can make for an intrusive experience.
  • Selection is a con too: 10 million songs might be a lot compared to some of the other programs of this kind out there, but for all the junkware you get, it might not be enough to justify a download.
